Itinerary – 2 days on the North Ridge
Day 1 – Ascent to the Kürsinger Hut
We begin the approach together to the Kürsinger Hut (2,558 m), our base for the climb. From here, we enjoy magnificent views of our goal – the Grossvenediger – and nearby peaks such as the Hoher Geiger, Maurerkeeskopf, and the Schliefertürme.
Hiking time: approx. 2 hours
Elevation gain: approx. 600 m (from the cableway base station)
Day 2 – North Ridge to the Grossvenediger summit (3,674 m)
We start early, following the normal route up to around 3,000 m before traversing under the North Face to reach the start of the airy North Ridge. The terrain is exposed yet mostly straightforward – ideal for mountaineers seeking a spectacular ridge climb in an unforgettable high-alpine setting.
The ridge offers firm footing and impressive exposure
Crux section: a short slab rated UIAA IV-
Total time: approx. 10 hours
Ascent: approx. 1,200 m
Descent: approx. 1,800 m
