Tour Itinerary – 2 Days to the Großes Wiesbachhorn
Day 1 – Ascent to the Heinrich Schwaiger Hut
The meeting point is at the Kesselwandhaus car park (Kaprun). From here, we take the bus up to the Mooserboden reservoir (approx. 2,100 m) and begin the ascent to the Heinrich Schwaiger Hut (2,802 m). The approach already offers impressive views of surrounding glaciers and three-thousand-metre peaks.
Hiking time: approx. 2 hours Elevation gain: ↑ 700 m
Day 2 – Summit Day via the Kaindl Ridge
We start early in the morning and follow the classic Kaindl Ridge towards the summit. The route leads through steep snow and rock sections, with easy climbing passages up to UIAA grade I. Although technically moderate, the terrain is exposed and demands surefootedness and alpine experience.
From the summit of the Großes Wiesbachhorn (3,564 m), you are rewarded with outstanding panoramic views of the Glockner Group, including the Grossglockner, and the surrounding high-alpine landscape. The descent follows the same route back down to the Mooserboden and continues by bus to the car park.
