Starting Point – Rudolfshütte (2,315 m)


We take the cable car from Enzingerboden up to the Rudolfshütte,our ideal base for the ascent of the Stubacher Sonnblick (3,088 m).From here, several route options are available depending on snow and weather conditions.


Ascent to the Stubacher Sonnblick (3,088 m)


The route leads over the Sonnblickkees glacier, across gently rising terrain towards the summit.In the upper section, the slope becomes steeper, where crampons may be needed.After about 3 to 4 hours of climbing, we reach the summit and enjoy the breathtaking viewacross the surrounding peaks of the Hohe Tauern.


  • Ascent: 800–900 m

  • Descent: up to 1,700 m

  • Duration: approx. 4–5 h

The area around the Rudolfshütte offers numerous rewarding additional summitsthat can easily be combined with the Sonnblick – ideal for multi-day ski touring adventures:

  • Johannisberg (3,460 m) – a majestic 3,000 m peak with panoramic views of the Großglockner

  • Hoher Riffler (3,338 m) – a remote and impressive ski summit with a true alpine character
